What Principal Do You Live By?

April 2nd, 2009

One of the greatest feelings I have is when someone I am talking to has that “AH-HA” moment.  I was talking to a new patient last night when I saw a change in her physiology.  She had been told to come to our office for her daughter that was suffering from chronic earaches.  When I explained how and why chiropractic could help her daughter, she seemed interested.  I then went on to teach her about the principals of health and healing and that is when it happened.  Her eyes lit up as I continued to explain her body was a strong self-healing organism.  I ask patients all the time, “Was your body Created to be a weak suffering body or was it Created to be a thriving healthy body?”

In the commonly accepted current health care model, we are repeatedly told that our bodies are weak.  They tell you your body needs things from the outside such as drugs or surgery.  Now I would never say there is never a time when a drug or surgery is not necessary.  I recently had the unfortunate need to send a patient to a surgeon to have a fusion done in his cervical spine.  There is a concept: limitations of matter.  This states that matter can only withstand so much force before it breaks down.  Falling off the empire state building no matter how much you believe in any principal is going to lead to your demise.  However, stating that, not often does something so tragic ever happen.  Most of the time it is the accumulation of small traumas and problems that are neglected that lead to limitations of matter.

In the example of my patient that had surgery, he had a history of chronic neck problems that would come and go.  Five years before he came to see me he had an extreme pain episode, went to the doctor who gave him medications and referred him to physical therapy.  They taught him some stretches and exercises and over time with the meds and exercises the symptoms went away.  Guess what didn’t go away.  The problem!  His spine continued to degenerate over the next few years to a point of no return.  I worked with him for a few months with modest improvement but no real reduction in the radiating pain.  I referred him to an MD that ordered an MRI and it was discovered that not only did he have disc issues by the bone spurring that was happening, it was physically compressing the spinal cord.  Once I heard this I told him surgery was necessary because I know the danger of compressing the spinal cord.  If we could make changes over time, the amount of permanent damage done would lead to a early death for him.

What we have here is someone that was living by the wrong principal of health.  Not because he was being defiant or slighting anyone, he just didn’t know anything different.  He was living by our modern medical model’s rules and traditions that teach us to live our lives as we want and when things suddenly change for the worse there is a magic pill, potion, lotion or surgery that will fix things.  As I continue to hope and pray for a complete recovery from the surgery, I can only think I wish I would have met him 5 years ago.  We could have avoided this whole thing and he could be enjoying life and being the healthiest he had been in years.

The principal my family and I live by is simple.  Let’s take responsibility for our health.  Every decision I make today impacts my health tomorrow and into the future.  The foundation of our principal starts with my passion to make sure that the innate healing power in our body never has interference.  By regularly adjusting my family I am ensuring that the healing power that created them, from one sperm and one egg, into the persons they are today is living strong and well in them.  People today need to understand that they are where they are today because of the decisions they have made in the past.  Starting right now, you can decide to change your future.  We are holding our Maximized Living Makeover on April 11th.  During this 3 hour class we are going to teach you the principal of chiropractic and the 5 Essentials everyone needs to regain and maintain a long, healthy drug free life.

Whereever your health is today, what is it going to be like 5 years from now, 10 years, 25 years etc.  If you don’t like that picture you need to do something about it.  I GUARANTEE you this, if you come to our makeover and do the things we ask you to do over the next 12 months, your health will be better.  You will be able to see that picture differently of what you want to be when you’re 70.  Do you want to travel and hike, go for walks on the beach, play with your grand kids, golf or explore your creativity?  Whatever your passion and vision looks like it can be yours.  The decision is yours.

Who do you know that needs to hear this principal?  I am willing to bet if you didn’t say everyone you didn’t read this blog and you need to re-read it.  If you want to come to our Makeover and start this new chapter in your life and completely change how the story ends, call our office.  720-747-5333.  As a special for subscribing to our blog, if you bring 5 people with you to our event your admission is free and includes a book and the five people you brought come for free as well. (They can buy a book at the event if they want a resource guide)

We can change the face of health care in this country even if we have to do it one patient at a time.

Be Blessed,

Dr. Tim
