At what age should someone go to a chiropractor?

February 26th, 2009

In an effort to continue the education of my patients on the wonders of the body and how chiropractic plays such a crucial role in its function, I thought this would be a good discussion.

When does the first subluxation, misalignment of the vertebrae, happen in most people. Most probably think it is after a car accident, fall or major trauma. Although these events do typically cause them, lets talk about the “science and procedures” behind child birth in the modern world. First does it concern you that we have to have “science and procedures”, to deliver a child? Something that to the best of my knowledge has been done successfully for at least a few years with out extensive intervention.

A quick question for you. How much muscle strength does a child have in his or her neck when born? You are probably saying wow, not much. Now how do they get the babies out(whether traditional or c-section)? Pull on their heads. So I ask you again, when do you think the first misaligned vertebrae happens? At birth!

Some of these kids will not immediately show “signs or symptoms” of this problem or often times are showing them and they are viewed as some other unrelated problem. For example: colic, ear infections, chronic sickness, torticollis(a head tilt often caused by nerve compression leading to chronic muscular spasm.) and breathing difficulties just to name a few. These children are often categorized by these diseases and the parents who want nothing but great things for their children will jump through hoops, endanger their child by giving him or her a multitude of medications.

The academy of pediatrics has made recommendations that no child under the age of 6 take any types of medication that are not life saving or preserving. You may noticed that over the past couple of years there has been a lot of publicity about over the counter drugs and kids. Three years ago the FDA said it was not recommended to give children under the age of 2 any over the counter remedies. This last year the FDA increased the age to 4 even though the many pediatricians wanted a minimum of 6 and many 12.

So what are you options. If your kid is not healthy and they have been taking these dangerous medications just to get by, they need another option. Chiropractic is the answer. What could be more powerful than restoring God’s healing force in your body. You do realize that you have an innate intelligence in your body that wants nothing more than you to be a healthy and whole individual. It doesn’t need drugs to make it heal, it just cannot have any interference! Adjustments take pressure off the nervous system structures that are giving life to your organs and body. Sure it is a good idea to eat well, exercise, reduce toxicity, and find peace in your life but without a functioning brain and spinal chord what do you have?

I will close with a short testimonial to the tremendous healing power of the body. Just over a year ago we were blessed to have little boy cross our path. We were at a kids event at the Denver Zoo when I saw a little boy less than 2 who was not happy and had pus and ear wax draining out his ear on to his cheek. His mother said she could not believe it was that bad already she had just wiped and cleaned it out less than 30 minutes prior. They agreed to come into the office for an evaluation. I found out that this 22 month old boy has 14 different RX drugs that he takes at different times to control all the different conditions; ear infections, asthma, allergies, chronic sickness just to name a few. We evaluated him found severe subluxation damage in the upper part of his neck and began to care for him. At his 30 day re-eval we had noticed tremendous changes in his attitude and behavior. When I asked the mom how things were going at home she told me that after about a week a care they decided to take him off his medications and give him only the ones on an as needed basis. She said they had not needed to give him any over that 3 week period. 3 months after beginning care, he was given a clean bill of health from the very highly respected doctors at National Jewish hospital here in Denver. It is the #1 respiratory hospital in the US. Can I just say WOW! The power that made your body will heal your body.

Be Blessed,

Your Beacon Of Light

February 23rd, 2009

Beacon of light

If you are living in today’s world you may have noticed a few things have been changing in our economy.  If you watch the news, read papers or magazines, get on the internet or hang out in any social situation you are getting bombarded with the doom and gloom in the world.  Bailouts, layoffs, recession, depression, bankruptcy are all terms you cannot have a conversation or read anything without seeing.  So how bad is it really.

According to a recent poll, about 20% of people are being significantly impacted by the economy currently.  That means 80% of people are not!  For those being impacted by loss of job and tougher times, I am not saying things won’t be different for them but the majority of us are not being impacted.

According to the papers the one industry that is not being significantly impacted at this point is medicine.  Many areas of medicine are still hiring.  Why is this?  Well from my view point, medicine thrives when the nation is sick, tired, stressed and spinning downward.  As peoples’ stress levels rise they have more sickness, disease and mental instabilities.  A perfect fit for a drug-toting medical model.  You have muscle pain, take a drug; you are depressed, take a drug; you have an ulcer, take a drug; you have a headache, take a drug.  No matter what the problem is we can take a drug to make it go away.  A great simple answer to your complex problems right?  Maybe not!  Currently the US medical model is killing more people every year than heart disease or cancer!  Yet people are still flocking to it because they have not been properly educated on how the body works and where health comes from.

My next question for you: will taking that next Rx drug solve you economic problems, health problem or mental instability?  I challenge you to find a magic pill that solves your problems.  Is there a pill that will find you a job, fix your relationships, help you make good nutritional decisions, make you a better time manager and restore vital nervous system input to your organs and body?  NO!  But that is what Maximized Living will do for you.

From this point forward our goal is to become the Beacon of Light for you and your family.  We all need to have a place where we can go to receive good news, positive affirmation, great energy and feeling of belonging to a great purpose and mission.  That is what our office stands for!  So don’t be offended if while in passing we hear things not in line with our mission that we spin the idea positively.  We can not continue to live in fear.  We are taught to fear the unknown when we should be changing our future and our own outcomes with positive thoughts, energy and most importantly actions.

Every day we are still seeing people improve their health, function and ability in our office, despite living in the same area, having the same things going on in their life as you.  The difference: where is your focus!

Stay positive, on purpose and LIVE today!

You may know your IQ, but what is your EQ?

February 19th, 2009

The people of the US are constantly raising the bar on IQ.  Kids today are learning things in pre-school that I remember learning in 1st grade.  The invention and use of computers, educational TV and electronic learning mediums have some kids reading before they get into school.

All of these things are increasing the IQ of our children as well as many adults in today’s world.  IQ is a measure of a persons’ intelligence from an information or  “smart” level.  So then, what is EQ or sometimes referred to EI?

EQ is your emotional intelligence.  We probably all know someone in our past or present who is like an encyclopedia, for the younger generation these were books typically sold door to door that contained facts and knowledge about most subjects that we used for research,  but had little to NO commonsense or weren’t comfortable outside of their structured environment.  I’ll give you a perfect example of what I am talking about.  I have patient with a son who is a computer genius.  You can ask him to fix networking problems, done; load software, done; trouble shoot system problems, no problem.  So why is someone with this amount of IQ  not able to hold down job for longer than 6 months?  You guessed it, his EQ is that of a child.  He struggles to act appropriately in a work environment  and therefore finds himself getting disciplined all the time until they have had enough.  If he was put into a social event like an employee party or dinner, he would be completely out of his comfort zone would not know how to act and eventually would either leave or make a fool of himself.  The problem with electronic media is that people can learn without having to develop personal social skills.

Here’s another great example of the lack of EQ in someone who was a semi-successful business owner.  I have a friend who owns his own business and was pretty successful for a time.  As times changed he kept doing what he had done in the past to keep building his business.  As you can imagine that started to not work out to well.  It unfortunately led the demise of his business.

When I talked to him about it, he told me, “I don’t understand how this happened, I had a great business plan that had worked for the first couple of years.”

So I asked him, “When it started to not work or you saw a decline in results and growth, did you alter you plan or find new ways to improve your outcomes?”

He said, “Why would I do that when it worked so well for so long?”

Well because of the lack of EQ to fully understand the situation, his IQ got in the way.  His procedures were flawless and he knew them well.  Sometimes we are stuck in a spot and we don’t have the ability to step back, look at the situation and determine that our results are terrible.  We think, “If I keep doing what I am currently doing why would I expect the outcomes to change?”

So my final point for today:  If you have been stuck in a life or health situation that you don’t like, know is not healthy for you and you just keep doing what you are currently doing, do you expect it to change?  If you said yes than we need to work on increasing your EQ!  Don’t let your IQ get in the way of change and development.  I had the opportunity to talk with a successful and well educated lady at the mall this past weekend about her health issues.  She told me she was currently seeing 12 different medical specialists and they have yet to determine what are  the causes of her problems.  She told me she was taking 17 RX drugs currently and she felt her condition has not really improved significantly.   So I asked her if she thought the 18th drug was finally going to be the answer.  You have taken 17 and do you think, ‘if I could just take ONE MORE I am sure I will be cured?’  She looked at me with a serious face and said probably not.  I asked her if she would like to possibly only see one doctor, get off her medications and have her body restore itself to its normal natural state?  She looked at me and smirked and got onto the escalator saying, “as if it could be that easy, no thank you.”  Her IQ was good, as she was able to explain some things that were going on with her, but I question her EQ, however.

I realize people are unfortunately taught in our society that choices we make on a daily basis don’t have a significant impact on our health and our future.  We are indoctrinated into a health care system that over the past 30 years has proven to be completely failing our country.  People are forgetting that our body is a self -healing and self-regulating organism.  You body is not WEAK, it wants to be healthy and the decisions you make today will impact its ability to perform in the future.  If you want health and what you are currently doing is not improving your condition, (by the way drugs never cure anything) then it is time to utilize that by hopefully developing EQ and making a change.

It is time to take control of your health.  If you are looking for a beacon of light in a very toxic society, I suggest you PLUG into Maxmized Living.

Keep moving forward,

Is There Hope For ME?

February 18th, 2009

I get that question asked way to often from people that enter our office looking for help for problems that are not getting better with traditional treatments.  So I often ask them some simple questions.

1.  Do you believe the body is a self healing/regulating organism?  Hopefully Yes!

2.  What intelligence was in you at conception that allowed that sperm and egg to get together and form you?  It put your head where it belongs, your heart, arms etc.  Your Innate, God given intelligence!

3.  When you are born does that great power, innate intelligence, leave your body?  NO!

In our traditional medical model we are taught from the beginning that our bodies are weak and need the assistance of medicine right away.  This is why we are given shots at birth to “help” the body, Vaccines because the body is to weak to fight off invaders and don’t forget the lovely antibiotics that are given out like childrens vitamins.  WHY?  If you think for a minute that the innate intelligence needs help at this point you are mistaken.

How did people survive up to this point without all these drugs, shots and interventions?  They built strong bodies.  Becoming a vessel that lives the 5 Essentials of Maximized Living ensures a strong body.  We can all live the life we were intended to live.  YES there is hope for you.  We have the pleasure of hearing daily about how people were able to stop taking medications not because they just wanted to but also because they did not NEED it anymore.

We offer hope to the hopeless, We offer direction for the lost and We offer life and vitality for the suffering.

Have a Blessed day

Dr. Tim.
